Elizabeth started her acting career from her father’s television series ‘Robert Montgomery Presents’ and later in the year 1953 made her Broadway Theatre debut from the act ‘Late Love.’ She won the Theatre World Award for her debut performance in Late Love. In 1955 she did her first film ‘The Court-Martial of Billy Mitchell’ and returned to the theatre in 1956 for the act ‘The Loud Red Patrick.’

She got married to her second husband, Gig Young, who was an Emmy award-winning actor in the year 1956 and got divorced in 1963.
